Penguin Random House (PRH) is a company formed by the merger of book publishers Random House, (owned by Bertelsmann), and Penguin Group (owned by Pearson PLC). Penguin Random House markets itself as "the world's first truly global trade book" publisher. It was formed on July 1, 2013, upon the completion of an agreement between German media conglomerate Bertelsmann and British publishing company Pearson to merge their respective trade publishing companies, Random House and Penguin Group.
Penguin Random House Australia launched the new website in 2016 to showcase all the new titles and authors with new features like events calendar, series collections, brands and licensing collections, browse by themes, variety of format, news and many more. The website encourages users to immerse themselves into finding the perfect book and building a community for the love of books and authors.
